Hello I go a high school that demands three hours of “community service” for all the students once a year. I believe this is uncommon simply because I have by no means heard of such needs in any other private high in my state. They count this day as a school day so if you are absent or merely fail to show up for the day or even portion of it there is a very good chance the kid will be required to show up to a silly three hour Saturday function session which they have to spend $ 10 for. I am very upset by this since Now I have to spend cash to be punished for not going to a physical labor filled “school day.”
Is this legal? I am very upset with the school I go to… It is a christian school that takes away holidays since a teacher will disagree with the purpose behind it… Its a school that shows racist overtones to any black male and squirts them with water guns if they raise their hand in class. Is any of this ilegal? Or do they get off scott totally free simply because they’re a beautiful little private christian school.

It is a private school, so they fairly much play by their own guidelines. If they want to incorporate 3 hours of community service in the curriculum, then they most definitely can.

Some holidays are required…what ones do they take away?

As for the racism, I am confident those black students can sue the school for not delivering the agreed upon services, and for emotional damages.
