I was driving during a torrential rainstorm, and noticed a house that had a very nice patio set turned upside down, the umbrella getting bent, chairs, flying around the yard, etc. I didn't know the people, but I stopped, knocked on the door - no answer, so I picked up the pieces, which quickly blew over again. So, I went home, got a tarp & a bunch of bungee cords, and went back, & was able to secure their furniture to the house. I ended up soaking wet and late for my appointment, but it was worth the effort to do this annonymous good deed - it made me feel good to do it.

Sunday I was in Portland Oregon and gave some change to a fella who was looking for a buck to buy a sandwich.
My wife aided a person on the street who had a seizure, until the aid unit arrived.
A business man on his lunch break (Monday) saw me with a map of downtown Portland looking in the phone book and offered to help me find a certain toy store. Not only that he led us there then bid us farewell. That's pretty random. That's pretty kool!

I once bought and wrapped a ton of Christmas presents for the children of a women I worked with. She was really going through a tough time. This woman was a single mom who spoke so much about her children, it was easy to know what to buy.

I left the gifts anonymously near her desk in couple of huge shopping bags. A couple of days later the woman tacked up an emotional thank you note on the bulletin board. I really had no idea that it would mean so much to her and her kids.

I have sent grocery store gift cards anonymously to a single mom who worked for me and didn't have enough money.
I have paid for groceries when I was behind an elderly person who didn't have enough money.

I was at a tennis tournament with thousands and thousands of people there. So many people you could barely walk. A elderly man in front of me dropped his money clip and kept walking. I picked it up and noticed that is had A LOT of money in it so I followed the man until I could reach him and I handed it back without ever hesitating

There is hate and hypocrisy everywhere. Obviously some people seem to think that they are the only ones allowed to do anything good for a community. I amazes me me that a church can demand 10% from its followers in the form of tithes (and get it) all the while calling taxes evil regardless of how that tax money is spent. If that church did nothing but make the church building prettier while allowing those poor in the community to go without food, that would be the greater evil (I've seen this happen). I've also seen very rich churches do nothing, while their parishioners demanded that some government official lay out funds for some worthy project. Hypocrisy in deed and thought, indeed!

Wow! Religion is a scam and a racket. They will be turned against as people begin to get tired of being fleeced and tossed about.

That is a lot of money to rake in while the nation is in such hard times.

My friend who is Pentecostal I think won a ton of money and before he spent a dime he gave the Church's cut of 6,700.00 to the church.
Well a24 months pass and he finds some hard times being he lost his job due to cut backs, he found a second job not paying as much as the first. He went back to the church and asked to re-fi his home so he could make use of the lower interest and lower his monthly payment. The same church refused. He and his father stopped all tithes to the church. They were paying faithfully for 40+ years.
The church could re-fi they just do not want to, they like raking in the money. He is now trying to re-fi outside of the church. What a mess.

This is why churches should not be tax exempt. They continually use the pulpit for political gains. Other political organizations pay taxes. So should they. Or they should stay out of politics when making sermons. One or the other.
