Question by pamcarter: Do any huge pharmaceutical companies “give back” to the poor in America by donating vitamins to soup kitchens?
And homeless shelters that individuals can take or not at their own totally free will because vitamin deficiency is prevalent amongst the homeless and increasing today with poverty levels and lack of education?
Possibly I am misinformed that huge pharmaceutical organizations make vitamins, so I will say “vitamin businesses” rather.

I don’t know but that would be a GREAT idea… at least at the soup kitchens. Although, some people may have medical allergies, but as a whole that’s a really great idea.

If people want to take them at their own free will they’ll go buy them for $ 4 for a 2 month supply.

Shouldn’t vitamin companies do that?
Pharmaceutical companies give back by providing their medications free of charge to lots of people who cannot afford them.

you don’t go to a soup kitchen for medication.
but yes some do.

Most big pharmaceutical companies do not make or provide vitamins, but many do have programs to assist low income individuals with low or no cost medications, I think this is a much better service than the one you propose.

Big Pharmaceutical is part of the corporatism/fascism running the country, made stronger through the health care bill. They probably only care about their profits and their support from the government to profit as much as possible off the people.

they pay tax, the tax gives welfare, so yes

I see what you’re saying…but pharmaceutical companies have nothing to do with vitamins. In fact, they hate the idea of natural health/healing all together. They would rather you be sick and dependent on their drugs.

Well, I know they lobby to keep lower cost medicines from Canada out of the US so that they can maintain their +500% inflated rates and fleece the public…

I worked for a pharma company and we were involved in all kinds of community service; Habitat for Humanity, Clothe-a-child, United Way, and a host of other charities. We had pharmaceutical programs for the old and poor. We, however, did not make vitamins.
