Query by RP McMurphy: Leftys, why are productive folks who spend your frieght expected to “give back to the community?”?
Successful, productive person pays for your nanny state and all the goodies that come with it, yet right after all that rather of a gracious thank you all he gets is a sneer and an admonishment for not “giving back to the community”. What provides?

It’s part of their mindset.
“Lefties” as you call them typically fall within the spectrum that believes in community support, and that all other members of the community must contribute to take care of those members who need help — that’s their version of community spirit.
“Righties” tend to promote conformity in behavior within the community, regulating conduct, but leave charity up to the individual conscience rather than making it mandatory.
Just a difference in social and political philosophy.

I think that’s a good point. Rich pay for a huge chunk of entitlement programs and yet often don’t collect a lot back. They’re receiving a net loss.

I am not a ” lefty ” but I am a middle class Democrat. No one has paid my freight but me. And I do not mind giving part of my tax money to the needy and the elderly. I don’t like the offenders of the program anymore than anyone else but the kids are not at fault. You people gripe about the social programs but do not say anything about tax cuts to corporations like Exxon as they gouge the piss out of the working class to make record profits. They deserve all they can get because you own their stock, right? Well there you go, my tax money is going to you through Exxon, so kiss my middle class @ss.

Successful, productive people are primarily liberals. Take a look–the average education–and income–are higher for liberals than conservatives.
But–we recognize that decent peopleare willing to help each other. Selfishness, greed, disregard for the poor and sick–all the things Christ taught–are things most of us try to practice. Its only the right-wing fake “moral values” hypocrites that spit on these REAL values.
So that-s why-because its the right thing to do.

You dont pay my freight. As a matter of fact the cons are always trying to commit tax evasion. If all the cons payed thier fair share you might have a valid question.
