Intriguing, I’ve been greening every little thing in ,corp. environmental technologies for years… The answer is in fact really simple. No matter what your firm does, its very first mission should be the lower its own non-green practices and product(s) to be as effective as possible. Then set the normal for others to follow as a component of your own corporate public relations.

To overcome resistance toward any green initiatives when you first start trying to implement such things in your company, you need to identify things that will improve the company’s profitability by increased efficiency and/or reduction in costs.
Getting rid of incadescent lights and putting in more energy efficient lighting is one example – it will reduce the company’s electric bills and over time the cost of replacing the lighting will be more than recaptured.
I replaced every incadescent light bulb in my house with those cork-screw looking flourescent bulbs and in just a few months I was money ahead. The savings realized in a commercial building would be even more remarkable.
