Query by Erin: Techniques to Make My Life Much less Boring by “volunteering”?
I know this is impossible and unrealistic, but is there any way I can assist victims of hurricanes/floods whatever by really going down there and rebuilding and blah blah blah. I do not know what else to do–I’m grasping in the dark and I am really bored with my life. I truly want to do something exciting and meaningful. I reside in Cleveland, Ohio and I am about to move to Columbus to go to college there (BORING). I know this is a stupid question, but it’s the World wide web

The mission of College Students for New Orleans is to recruit and organize groups of students to volunteer for non-profit organizations in the Higher New Orleans Area.

I know someone already gave you contact info on how to help out hurricane victims and that would be really great but if you do find yourself stuck in Columbus, why not help out at a food bank, shelter for the homeless, meals on wheels, help build someone a home for habitat for humanity, become a big brother or sister for a child, or even teach people how to speak and write English at an ESL class ? There are many worthwhile ways to help people. Don’t be discouraged because of where you live or end up living. You can help people no matter where you are ! What’s important is that you want to help people. Please, don’t lose that spark you feel inside to lend a hand.
